Many clients ask us what we require as a starting point to begin a search for a missing person. In a perfect world, you would give us the subject's:

-- full name (including the middle name or initial)
-- full date of birth (or year of birth or age or an age range)
-- Social Security Number (almost never available but we still ask)
-- last known address (this is just the last address where you KNOW they were living, even if it was years ago and they may have moved five times since then)

Other potentially useful info is a phone number (current or not), city or state in which you suspect they might currently be living; spouse's/ex-spouse's name and anything else that might help us get a fix on your missing person.

Keep in mind that our clients NEVER have all of the above available and often can only provide a name and a former address. Usually, we can even make that work!
